approximately 135 miles, 20 hours of personal training, and not a second without pain or exhaustion over the course of nearly three months, i have successfully completed a half-marathon, lost 13 pounds, and over 20 inches from head to toe.  (when you say it like that, it sounds pretty damn impressive).  however, i am only a third of the way to my goal.
to sound cliche, i want to be in the best shape of my life.  at 35 years old with two kids, there’s no reason i shouldn’t be.  in fact, i think it’s far more impressive to attempt this feat now than 10 years ago. ultimately, my goal is to accomplish this by my 36th birthday on may 7 2012; however, the real end goal is to maintain it, like, forever.
i don’t want to be the fat frumpy mom who’s let herself go.  i want to be the fit mom who can still pull off a nice ensemble.  i’ve never been one to spend much time in front of the mirror… in fact, i abhor the getting prettied up dance. however, it’s imperative to be healthy… for my children, but i’ve painfully learned first-hand that clothes do not look cute on fat people.
i have 20 more pounds to go.  let’s do this.
